Consulting: skills and workshops

Skills and workshops: satellite data know-how for your teams

Skills and workshops is LETO SPACE's fourth consulting practice area. In innovation workshops, leaders and teams identify where satellite data and AI can help and develop first concepts. In training, the future users of a solution learn to use it. Workshops run in German and English, and in other languages when needed; LETO Academy offers self-paced courses to follow up.

What a workshop or training delivers

01When you need it

When a workshop helps

Satellite data projects depend on people who can judge what the data can do and what it cannot do. Workshops and training build that understanding at two points: before a decision, and before a solution goes live.

Typical starting situations:

  • Leadership wants to know whether satellite data and AI matter for the organisation before it commits a budget.
  • Several departments have ideas, but no shared picture of what is possible or where to start.
  • A solution is about to go live, and the team that will run it has not worked with geospatial data before.
  • New colleagues take over a running service and need to understand its data, its limits and its provider.

02Formats

Two formats

Innovation workshops

For leaders and teams who want to find out where satellite data and AI can help. We start from your tasks and problems, show which applications already exist in your field and develop first concepts with you. The results feed into strategy and use cases.

Technology training

For the people who will work with a solution. Training covers what the data shows and what it does not show, how to read and check results, and how the service fits into your processes and systems. It fits best during implementation, before the solution goes live.

03Topics

What a workshop can cover

Building blocks

Topics we put your agenda together from

  • Which tasks, risks and obligations in your organisation satellite data and AI could address, for example physical assets, exposure to climate risks or reporting duties.
  • Which applications of Earth observation, satellite navigation and satellite communication already exist in your field, and what providers offer today.
  • Which few use cases to pursue first, rather than a long list of pilots that never scale.
  • Who should own the topic in your organisation.
  • Whether to buy a product, partner in an ecosystem or build the capability yourself.
  • What a solution costs to run after the pilot, and how to budget for it.
  • A first concept for the most promising use case.

Several building blocks prepare the first practice area, strategy and use cases: the business problem and prioritised use cases.

04Deliverables

What you receive

Deliverables

What a workshop or training delivers

  • A workshop summary: the opportunities discussed, the shortlisted use cases and the agreed next steps, in writing.
  • A trained team: your future users have practised reading, checking and using the results of your solution, based on their own daily tasks.
  • LETO Academy course pointers: courses for follow-up that fit each role, in English and German.

05Products

Workshops and LETO Academy

Workshops and training are built around your organisation and your questions. LETO Academy is the self-paced format: online courses on AI, space-enabled solutions and the Spacegraph platform, in English and German. Some courses are open, others are available by invitation.

LETO Academy

Our self-paced courses on AI, digital skills and space-enabled solutions, in English and German, some open, some by invitation.

06Limits

When a workshop is not the right step

  • Limit 02

    Training without a solution

Training works best when participants can apply it to a solution, a pilot or a decision ahead of them. Without that, self-paced courses are often the better start.
  • Limit 03

Satellite data is not the answer

A workshop can also conclude that local sensors, existing registers or field surveys answer your question better. If that is the case, we say so.

07Team

Who leads the workshops

The same core team from consulting, software engineering and AI that works in our projects leads the workshops. Subject-matter experts from our network join for specialist topics. Workshops are held in German and English, and in other languages when needed.

Frequently asked questions

Q1Is a workshop the right first step?

It is if you are not yet sure whether satellite data is relevant to your organisation, or if several departments need a shared picture before anyone sets priorities. If you already know your use case, start with requirements and procurement instead. If you are unsure, an initial call will clarify it.

Q2What does a workshop on satellite data cover?

An innovation workshop starts from your tasks, risks and obligations and looks at which applications of Earth observation, satellite navigation, satellite communication and AI already exist in your field. It ends with a short list of use cases, first concepts for the most promising one and agreed next steps. We put the agenda together with you from the building blocks on this page.

Q3Who should attend an innovation workshop?

The people who own the problem and the people who would use the result. In a city, that can mean staff from climate, planning, GIS and IT. In a company, it can mean the heads of the departments concerned, analysts and IT.

Q4Are workshops available in German and English?

Yes. We run workshops and training in German and English, and in other languages when needed. LETO Academy courses are available in English and German.

Q5How do workshops relate to LETO Academy courses?

Workshops are led by our team and built around your organisation and your questions. LETO Academy courses are self-paced, in English and German; some are open, others are available by invitation. After a workshop or training, we point participants to the courses that fit their role, so that learning continues.

Q6What does a workshop cost?

That depends on the format, the number of participants and the preparation needed. We name the cost in the free initial call, once we know what your team needs.

Q7How long is a workshop, and where does it take place?

We agree the format, the length and the number of participants with you, to suit your team and your goals. Workshops take place at your premises or online.
